Tradelite. . . .Hypothetically speaking!!. . . .[everyone knows I cannot and will not give specific financial advice here or in private]. . . after consulting with a financial advisor, tax advisor, estate planning lawyer, bakery chef and chief tribal counsel. . . . I would seriously consider the reasons [pressures?] for selling the consummate industrial stock. . . .I would take into consideration both that the markets are purged to move higher and that interest rates were probably as high as they are going to be for some time. . both of which could give GE a lift. . .but I would weigh that against the fact that GE is at its all-time high right now. . .and many other great stocks are still fairly undervalued by comparison. . . so I would MOSTLY be considering diversification of my estate portfolio. . . if GE is too heavily weighted in my estate portfolio, then now WOULD be an excellent time for some diversification, in my opinion. . . .however, if diversification were not an issues, I would consider alternatives to actually "selling" and taking on the huge capital gains tax. . . such as options, trusts, etc. . . .once all these questions were answered, I would seek the advise of the wisest person I could find on the subject. . . then based on the best information I could find, I would make a decisive move despite what anyone else thought or said.
Best wishes in YOUR endeavors,
