As a graduate student I did electronics work including my own PC board -- actually a TI microprocessor chipset. But I haven't done anything as practical as electronics in the last 15 years. Following the Rambus debate has given me an excuse to do a lot of reading and get up to speed again. The people like techfuture, Watzman, hodb, ridingthebus are the heart and soul of the Yahoo board, which I find is actually more informative than SI. Of course you also have to put up with more nonsense. I'm really hoping to take fewer breaks from the day job, and concentrate harder on what they pay me for! Given the vast technical superiority of RDRAM, its only a question of how fast and how far, not whether RMBS makes it. Thanks for asking.
