You definitely know your CPU stuff, but it was common knowledge that a longer pipeline is not as good in IPC as a shorter one, but can make up for it in overall performance because of cycle time.


Tony, your logic implies that one can judge a CPU by the length of its pipeline. Scumbria has made specific points to claim that Willy may not be well balanced.
