Bazan,

A blowoff top is a very high volume day with a significantly large price move. For ALSI, now that it's an IL violator, I'd say volume would be something close to 500K and a price bar that covers 3 or more points. It doesn't quite matter as much where within the bar it closes. Look at any chart...they all have a top somewhere. What's the one thing those tops most have in common....big volume.
ALSI might not blow off but just fade instead so scaling into a position would work well in any case.
