Nokia and SAS in co-operation to offer high end phones in the air (August 24, 2000) The Nokia 8210 and Nokia 8850 - the first mobile phones in the world to be sold onboard flights Nokia and SAS, Scandinavian Airlines Systems, have today announced a partnership to bring Nokia mobile phones to the selection of goods sold on all international SAS flights. This is the first time mobile phones will be sold on airplanes. Starting September 1, the Nokia 8210 and the Nokia 8850 will complement the assortment of quality goods available to passengers of SAS. "As SAS Flightshop is moving away from a traditional inflight assortment, we are looking for new types of designed products linked to strong brands. The majority of our customers who are travelling for business, appreciate luxurious and trendy products of high quality.
