Just imagine that @Home did not have Excite. Then AOL could sell content and use @home for internet access. It is late now since AOL bought time Warner and obtained the BB facilities in that transaction. However, consider that AOL still needs 100% BB access. AOL and T can still strike a deal to share the BB access for a fee. What prevents this from happenning? EXCITE, you go figure the management strategy of @home in buying Exite. AOL is the king of the internet for one reason: it is chat and Instant messages where cybering reigns supreme. It is the sex which has always sold media for all times since Adam and Eve.
