What I find interest is the next sentence:

The first Sony-branded and Wind River-enabled device to hit the market is Sony's new Network Walkman NW-E3.

From the spec, I didn't see much "networking" on the walkman besides USB, and I really didn't see anything that made VxWorks a must-have in the system. The quoted sentence is intriguing, because it implies that more Sony devices are on the way using VxWorks. What will these be?

There are many existing products and future products that VxWorks can be in, such as IP Radio, IP picture frame, 2.5G wireless walkman, Bluetooth enabled walkman, home entertainment system, and many devices that will be IP enabled. It would be interesting to see Sony's product road map.
