Art, congratulations on having a Cool Post!

I would add that analysts also seem to assume that demand increases linearly - let's say just from digital cameras for example. In fact, as we have seen over the past few weeks, demand for SanDisk media will be coming from numerous sources: Palm Pilot, Compaq's iPaq, Nintendo, on top of the standard digicam and MP3 applications. This should steepen the demand curve dramatically and keep us supply constrained, with healthy margins and no inventory, for quite some time. New fab capacities should be easily absorbed as new flash applications are continually announced.

Is it just me, or are the analysts totally missing these new sources of demand? I think their tendency might be to say - "If it's difficult to forecast, just leave it out."
