I ate lunch at McDonalds today...

...and spent $4.99 on their digital HitClips player.

mcdonalds.com

It is basically a small MP3-like player that clips onto your collar and plays one minute music clips using interchangeable music cartridges. These are undoubtedly flash-based.

The music quality is pretty bad, but the cartridges fit in other devices such as alarm clocks designed to play the music clips instead of just buzzing.

I was very happy to see the players. We have a whole new ground of pre-teens who are being weaned on MP3.
