I'm sure that you know that various wirehouses and wholesalers have purchased stakes in various ECNs. Where the time and liquidity factor is either not present or essentially the same across the board, obviously one is inclined to lay orders into "their" ECN, rather one with which no affiliation exists. I'm sure that the functionality that certain ECNs offer over others impacts their usage, as well. LPS5
