Apart from the screw-up over the FDA/SDA bit, Deeber is technically correct. SDA approval had not been reported as granted as of the 6/12 release.

June 12th release: "Calypte's application has been submitted to the SDA and is currently in process, with approval expected by the end of 2000."

Today's release: "(Calypte's) HIV-1 antibody urine test has been approved by the State Drug Administration (SDA) of the People's Republic of China."

Ron Insana and his co-anchors on the late CNBC got this wrong too. They may have been thrown off by the fact that the PR goes on to rehash the June news as well.
