John, Don't you think INTC is working with software guys for some time on these issues or did they just design this thing in a vacuum? When you buy a product such as MS Office, Oracle, IIS etc, with few exceptions (Direct X) you get 1 executable that is going to be used on machines starting from Pentium / K6 all the way to P4 / Athlon. The software makers will not be optimizing for P4 anytime soon. Joe
