Nettie: Product placement in movies ranges from a Coke sitting on a desk to "Reeses Pieces" being used as bait to lead "ET".

The company pays to have their product "placed" on the set. The director, quite rightly, pays no attention whatsoever to product placement and shoots the movie the way he wants. In the cutting room, no one says "We can't cut that sceen! We'll loose the $50k placement fee!".

Anyway, don't expect to see Arnold hold up a Zip disk and say "This single disk can hold more secret government files than 70 regular floppies." :-)
