To the thread,

Sorry to weigh in so late, but it was a pleasure meeting all of you at the Expo last weekend.
I really enjoyed the three tutorials from Linda Raschke, Rogan LaBier, and Alan Farley. Even the tradingmarkets.com tutorial provided some useful information, even if it was only confirmation of strategies I had learned in other tutorials. The funny thing about this business is it seems you only really learn or understand a technique or tactic after you have heard it, read it, seen it, (or traded it) for the tenth time...at least that is my experience. Having said that, sometimes it is hard to absorb so much information all at once...at times I just had to say "That's enough" and bail out. Because of this I skipped some of the tutorials. Being that I am trying to lock in and develop a specific strategy (tailored to moi) you get to a point where you feel "Screw all you people...I know what I'm doing!"
Of course I don't really feel that way, but I believe you have to come to a point where you are completely confident in your own abilities and decision making to trade successfully. I think you should only act on others suggestion(s) or teaching if it somehow clicks in your mind and you can compare it to your own experience. I.E., you say to yourself, "That's right, I've noticed that before, I will watch or trade that pattern next time such and such occurs."
Just some thoughts, I am still learning and those who know me know I haven't taken the plunge yet...but I am very close.
About the contest, I really thought I was going to win that Mercedes when on the eighth try they flashed NORTH HOLLYWOOD on the screen (the city where I live) before the name was shown. (For those of you that weren't there they showed the name of the city first, then the winners name, 13 TIMES!!). Apparently there is another trader living in North Hollywood...who knew?
As it turns out I got a call from MB trading on Monday and I won Tony Oz's new book which they Fedexed to me the next day. Maybe by some strange twist of fate that was the best thing that could have happened.

Thank all of you for your support and encouragement,

P.S. Matthias, I am excited about those European trading opportunities, please keep us all posted!
