Mr X said last night that the internet has changed the way people think. I wasn't sure I agreed with that but I thought about it for overnight and I guess he is right. It has made the world smaller for me. Steven Rogers for example (oh dear- this IS going to be 3rd party- but it's NOT insulting) is someone who lives in a place I would once have considered very far away. I didn't spend much time thinking about where he lives or the people there. NOW it seems like Steven, who I like very much, is right in my backyard yelling over the fence to me. I can't see him, but he seems like he is right there.

You, my friend, seem like you are in the same room with me. Of course on the flip side it brings me into contact with people who disturb me- people who I really had not imagined in such detail. People who sometimes believe almost the exact opposite of what I do. In 3d you don't normally bump into such people. You set your life so that your social circle brings you into contact with people you like and minimizes contact with people you don't like.

ANd the internet has revolutionized the way I shop, and search for information, and teach my children- but the human relationship thing is the MOST awesome change for me.

It has been a transforming technology for me.

I am trying to imagine getting excited about the telegraph. It's not happening for me.
