SEC, DOJ, FBI etc. will doubtless track records and establish entities who benefitted, etc. Then again, could be disgruntled employees, ex-employees, spouses etc. like a game of Clue. Then there are those like Colonel Mustard who got in during the plunge, or were shorts. Then there's the put and call options. Another problem would be those of us who use stop/loss orders who got filled far below our limit on an uptick, etc. There's no direct “choice“ involved when you set one of these mouse traps. One analogy from commercial law context: cover. Maybe those who wish the day had never happened should at least try to buy back at the price they got sold, however unlikely they are to get such a low price. My instinct: do nothing with present shares. Buy an equivalent amount to at least dollar cost average your position. Biggest complaint: we are in a vacuum with no official guidance from exchanges, etc.
