Joan, my take on the curve inversion is the same as always...the longer it persists, the more likely a recession becomes.

the energy analysts have been wrong on oil for over a year...i don't think they 'analyze' anything at all. but a recession would certainly cut demand for oil...if one looks at the components of the CRB one sees actually more deflation than inflation...energy is the exception. long term, the oil based economy is coming to an end...the global Hubbert peak will be reached sometime between 2003 and 2007. nothing anybody can do about that.
