Shocking, just shocking. Is this part of that creation/science movement? Are they teaching this crap in those private schools that Junior-George wants to send our tax money to? I figured you guys to be pretty light on the science training, but I never imagined that a whole subculture could be this ignorant and yet manage to turn on a computer. I guess I should get out more.
The Earth's flip would have no effect on the moon's orbit The moon core is not in the center of the moon, it is nearer the side of the moon facing Earth. That is why the two bodies are locked in place and the same side of the moon always points to Earth even as the moon goes around the Earth. The Earth is not a sphere, it bulges in the middle, mostly due to being attracted by the moons gravity. Since the Earth rotates faster than the moon can orbit, and because the earth is molten, and because it is a lot bigger than the moon, the core spreads out under the attraction in a plane coinciding with the moon's orbit.
The misaligned core of the moon, and the bulging center of the earth are gravitationaly locked. Tilt the earth and the moon is going to try and change it's orbit to follow the bulge, should that fail, the bulge will realign with the new moon orbit causing great cracking of the surface and volcanoes and earthquakes unlike anything recorded in the geologic record. There's so much more, but It's also lunch time here. This is incredible, really incredible, that supposidly educated grownups in America fall for this. TP |
