I saw that post, and the poster does present an interesting point. At this point it amounts to this. The shorts simply refuse to fold. And the longs refuse to fold, too. So both camps have raised high their respective barriers, and are now standing behind them awaiting future VLNC announcements.

Bottom Line? In this war of attrition somebody is standing behind a French-styled Marginot line. The question becomes, when the blitz occurs whose walls are gonna stand exposed as a strategically stupid position, eh? ;-)
