absolutely. and there we thought JIT meant no more inventory builds... i think the recent collapse in durable goods (second this year, but the series is notoriously volatile) and housing numbers today may be indicative that the jumping off the cliff isn't too far away....but then i have this pessimistic disposition and regularly misplace my rose-colored glasses. divining the future course of the economy is always difficult...we have lots of forces pulling in opposite directions right now, which becomes abundantly clear when one looks at the various components of the CRB.
