When I said that Roadrunner is not a competitor, I meant that:

1. Each has already forged alliances with the major cable service providers - some are in the Roadrunner camp, while other are in the @Home camp. And...

2. Cable service is, in most areas, a monopoly.

Thus, the two companies have already "carved up" the potential user base.
