MRV isn't the only one going the fiber optic spinoff route this fall. This article is a good discussion of the risks and the competition we face. It looks like these spinoffs are almost exactly in the same spaces as Lumn, itouch zaffire etc.. Where have we heard this before? "never able to gain respect on Wall Street" "incubator like CMGI" "Wall Street rewards pure plays" "This is a very difficult story to understand" "good technology but sales and marketing was always an Achilles heel" sfgate.com
