I take your point and I agree. If @Home has already forged deals sufficient to achieve a profitable subscriber base they are well positioned. I have often wondered how long cable monopoly would be allowed to continue. However, due to the enormous investment required in a hard-wired system, I suppose from a practical standpoint the major players are guaranteed dominance in areas they have wired. I understand that Cox has recently completed a system-wide (San Diego) upgrade to fiber-optic to increase bandwidth. Is there potential competition from satelite tv, or wireless carriers? I have watched the Qualcomm thread, and although I confess minimal understanding of the technology, I keep reading about increasing digital bandwidth. Pierre
