| The people who defend Clinton do not understand how we have writhed in pain over the antics of this fellow. I was so overwrought when they nailed him on the dress and he persisted in acting like a jerk before the grand jury and thereafter that I wrote to everyone in the Congress I could think of: from Maryland, associated with the Judiciary Committee, whom I had ever shaken hands with, urging them to impeach. I wrote to everyone I knew, even slightly, in the "policy community", mainly a couple of think tanks, urging impeachment. I tried to publish an op- ed piece in the Washington Times and Washington Post, but when they didn't take it, events had overtaken me somewhat, and I stopped. I was filled with disgust (depends on the meaning of "is"), and determined that the office should be purged. I constantly watched Chris Matthews and even Geraldo,often watched shows on MSNBC. I sent numerous e-mails to all of these shows (I have no idea if anyone of importance ever read them). Only impeachment calmed me somewhat...... |
