Nixon resigned when he saw the handwriting on the wall prior to the Impeachment vote. Can't impeach the guy after he resigns. You see in those days, the Republican Party, unlike the present day Dem. Party, had some statesmen in its ranks. Those gentlemen went to the WH and told Nixon he was doomed and asked him to resign for the good of the country. He did. If Clinton had any class he would have done the same but as we know he's got no class and here we are. JLA
