Gary-- Re: I very much doubt about that given the figures of how many CPU shipped last quarter from Intel and AMD.

Gateway had $1.9B in sales last quarter. Assuming Gateway's average revenue per system + services associated with system is $1500, Gateway sold 1.275M cpus last quarter. The average Athlon asp is ~$200, which is the only type of AMD cpu that is sold to Gateway. Gateway did not carry anything faster than 933MHz P3s until a few days ago, plus Gateway uses Celerons but no K6-xs, which implies that the Intel asp from sales to Gateway could be lower than the overall Intel asp. If AMD sold, say, four hundred thousand Athlons (22% of all Athlons) to Gateway last quarter, revenue from Intel and AMD cpus would be near parity.
