Doug - Re: "I think that I read recently that the P4 crossover date where more P4's are shipped than P3's should take place sometime in Q3 2001. Does this sound accurate to you, or do you think it sounds early considering Intel probably needs .13um to really start cranking out high volumes? "

That's way too early.

With the Pentium 3 going to 0.13 micron AS WELL as Pentium 4, I wouldn't even begin to speculate on a crossover date - at least not for 2 or 3 years out.

The Celeron + Pentium III and Pentium 4 will provide Intel with more granularity in their market segmentation efforts.

Re: "do you know if Intel will go with .13um and 300mm wafers and copper all at the same time?"

No - Intel is doing a parallel development - with the initial thrust on 0.13 micron/Copper Metallization/200 MM Wafers.

The 300 MM version will follow by about 6 months to a year after the 200 MM program hits production.
