VSH announced the probable debt free status both in its last earnings release and in the CC. The recent stock sale helped; the remainder is supposed to be from free cash flow -- a lot of which comes from SILI. Of course, it assumes that they make no major acquisitions in the meantime.

From a leverage standpoint, I would think that a case could be made that VSH is less leveraged than KEM since its revenue is spread out over a much broader product range.

Of course, even if VSH is less leveraged than KEM, with respect to debt-to-equity, the difference is insignificant and does not change the quality fiscal position that KEM is in.

I wonder what the basis for ML's position is or how current it is? Like I said, I have heard that "more leveraged" statement before (although I do not recall where or when) and am just curious if there is a factual basis for it or whether it once was true, but is no longer, which may be the case given VSH's recent pay down of debt.

More curiosity than anything that really matters.
