It's funny that Black-Shoals gets the Nobel prize for option strategies and the company they partner with goes belly up. As for portfolio insurance, I haven't personally heard of any, but that's shouldn't keep you from doing the DD yourself. If there was insurance available, just think of the stipulations and limitations that would be placed on it, what with America's need to blame "the other guy" for the mistakes the guy in the mirror makes. This, after all, is the stock market, in real time. You don't get "do-overs" or "Mulligan shots." Having a well balanced portfolio and using time tested strategies for solid investing are paramount to achieving above average returns while limiting risk. There are MANY ways to balance a portfolio.
