Pravin, Re: I was surprised to see that out of nine laptops...five were AMD. There were a handfull of Celeron desktops. The vast majority were 800+ Mhz Athlon systems from HP and Compaq. Hmmm, ASP might not be too bad this quarter, after all.
I recently made similar observations at my local Best Buy store. It looks like the K6-2+ has held AMD's market place accounts in the mobile market until the mobile Athlon is available. On the high end desktop, AMD rules!
Plenty of very excellent KT133 mother boards available, reports of people actually using the Athlon as a server with outstanding success, 100 MHz speed increases coming every 4 to 5 weeks, DDR memory all but here, both mobile and desktop Mustangs coming, 3 or more (760/760MP-ALI-SIS-Samari)pending new chipsets, excellent production success at both Austin and Dresden, successful Copper technology and production, leader in 1 GHz+ volume production, leading supplier to world flash memory demand, a prudent 64 bit processor design stirring up interest all over the place, plenty of available cash on hand, debt being retired early, blow away earnings at every quarter, successful transition from marketplace follower to marketplace leader...Yep! Looks like the Wall Street investors and the ANALysts are right on top of things! N O T !!!
Just MHO.
