I don't see any basis for it. Sure, the people who sold due to the phony PR got hurt, but should their recompense be at the cost of those who were buying at the time?

If I buy shares of stock, I don't want to have to worry that someone will confiscate them if it turns out the seller sold them under mistaken impressions.

The recourse should be against the guy who planted the PR (of course, there is nothing to recover there), and POSSIBLY against Internet Wire (though that is a bit of a stretch).
