If I recall correctly Gartner sent this same report out during the last pre-split runup. At that time it wasn't as specific but just problems with a dozen UE10000s. Secondly, after the eBay incident is when SUN came up with the SunTone initiative. Scott couldn't believe what eBay didn't know about Starfires and the machine with problems wasn't even cooled properly. In Scott's words, "selling a UE10000 to a dot.com is like giving a loaded handgun to a five year old." That is when they realized they had to make their servers as reliable and easy to operate as a "dialtone." By the way, are we sure that the owners under NDA aren't our partners who are bound by NDAs anyhow? The bears rampant speculation on anything negative about Sun is as about as useful as the speculation of who was going to win "Survivor." Let them have their fun before they go back to their steady diet of whole crow.
