One Other Thing I thought Of:

Intel said that they evaluated local interconnect on Process P856.5. That was the version of the 0.25u process that was tweaked to bring the Katmai core to 600MHz.

I wonder..... Since Willamette was being developed at that time.... and since intel KNEW that without local interconnects, Willamette would be a larger die, "IF" intel "evaluated" local interconnect on the Willamette....

SINCE local interconnect dramatically shrinks die size.... Then THAT smaller version of Willamette, WOULD have only been "Slightly larger than a CopperMine die".

Just as Albert Yu said......

Admittedly, allot of "IF's". Of course, I'm sure the AMD Fans, would prefer to think of Mr Yu, as a "Liar"...... but the speculation fits, now doesn't it....

:-)
