Richard, even if true, why does this matter? The larger unions (Teamsters, CWA, etc.) have desperately tried to extend their influence over the past several years. An attempt to extend themselves into a hot industry would not surprise me. The question is whether a high-tech worker would find syndicalism attractive. The ISPs provide a lot of entry-level tech jobs, which offer the promise of future job mobility. Why would someone in such a position need an additional level of management such as a union steward - not to mention a work arrangement that would threaten job mobility? In the modern corporation, the lines between staff and management are becoming increasingly blurred, anyway.
