re: "Ruiz: We would've loved to have been in the X-Box. I don't understand the reasons why the other one was chosen. But AMD is still intent on being part of a home appliance that can use our technology."

This is the one part of the interview that I cannot feel is entirely genuine. Though this would have had a significant and possibly profound impact on market presence and acceptance; it also would have possibly had a devastating impact on AMD's production capability for the parts of it lines that flow best to its bottom line (you know: PROFITS!!!) I cannot help but suspect that AMD was there as a spoiler to make inteL bid low and not make much on this piece of their business. Do note that both Microsoft and inteL share a reputation for being partners that make it very tough for the other side of any of their agreements to be profitable. H. Ruiz may be crying some very phoney tears here.

ANY THOUGHTS????

Patient Regards,
