Here's something really useful. The little bird that picks the bugs from around the eyes and ears of the rhino is called askari tufuru. Askari is Arabic for "policeman" or "soldier."

Swahili is actually a language of relatively recent origin, being a polyglot heavily influenced by Arabic.

"Swhahili" in Arabic means "coastal," which is where the language evolved. Swahili was in fact written in the Arabic script until fairly recently.
