Well that's certainly true for me. However (for me at least) it's necessary to make some calculated guesses. Earlier this year on another thread I opined that this year was more akin to '94 than '74. Since I expressed this view on a (somewhat) bearish thread, my perspective was chastised - largely because the excesses were viewed as being too extreme to be mitigated by a "mere" correction. I disagreed then and still do. I still subscribe to the idea that this year is a correction not the start of a secular bear and have placed my bets accordingly. That said, I'm not as sanguine as some others that the bear has already crawled back into its cave.
