Okay, here's my first take on TraderBot, the first real-time intraday trading tool on the Internet:
1. It's too slow. If you're going to have "real time" filtering, then the site needs to be snappier. Note that even during off-hours, the access is sluggish even with a T1 line.
2. I'm surprised that TraderBot is not more Java-based. The page refreshing simply takes too long. It would be nice to see lists updated in real-time. Take a look at Datek's Streamer or the RediBook site. If you're going to provide real-time data, then I believe it needs to be delivered in a specialized real-time format.
3. The customized real-time search template is confusing. Why not offer a list of fields and a list of values and/or percentages? It should be a list of formulas very similar to First Alert, for example, find those stocks whose Close > 20, ADX(14) > 30, and whose Volume(20) is greater than 50%. The list of fields should contain fundamental and technical values to do combined searches such as "find those companies with EPS > 0 and Volume > 0.5 * Float".
Overall, TraderBot is a promising idea, but if you're going to use an intraday search tool that delivers in real-time, stick with either Insight or First Alert.
