Basically the article dares to question the sacrosanct notion that new, high-profile management is a cure for all ills, and in fact going so far as to suggest selling to the euphoria surrounding the new management's hiring. The article started by mentioning Conseco's situation, and going on to give examples of companies who, despite all the prior accomplishments of their new management, failed make a lasting turnaround, namely:
