Yes, speaking out of ignorance, I think the reporting services have responsibility to verify PR's. I'm sure there's a great deal of pressure to scoop stories, or at least not get left behind completely. But that was an awful lot of bad news in one PR.

I did try to verify by calling the company, and by looking at the web site. But, regardless of whether the PR was true of a hoax, I kind of expected to get voicemail. And I wasn't sure how quickly EMLX posted their PR's on their own web site (some companies do this as an afterthought, days later). So nothing told me it was a hoax.
