Increasing disparity between have and havenots in the U.S. is a given IMO, even with the gap widening we've already seen. There is no reason the U.S. couldn't look somewhat like the globe...exept for our welfare system, ie. some of the richest and some of the poorest... watch out for the Buchanans of the world, that attraction has just begun.
