It's not like it had any effect on the market or anything. I made that statement one evening, but retracted it before the next morning's trading. It was my error, but at least I admitted it, and I corrected it quickly. This is in stark contrast to the long BS around here, where they go on and on and never admit to having made any mistakes at all. I even apologized:

It's not like I'm going to deliberately make stupid statements on this thread. Sometimes it gets late at night and you just screw something up. If I was a Rambus long, I'd simply be still claiming that it was true, but since I retracted my statement, they end up making a big deal out of it.
What about all their recent posts to the effect that (1) VIA was dumping DDR, and (2) VIA put off their DDR until 2H01? That's all completely bogus, and I haven't seen any apologies for those statements, nor will I, likely.
I think my new P.S. must be getting some notice, and is getting under some people's skin. Good! They should look around and notice the bizarre contradictions in this company's leaky story. This whole thing smells worse and worse to me as time has gone on.
Do you have any explanations as to how an intellectual property company could let that much product slip by without charge? I mean, I've left $20 in my pants pocket and run them through the washing machine, but I've never misplaced anything near a billion dollars.

Rambus - the bumbling company that let billions of dollars worth of SDRAM and associated chipsets be produced for six years without them being paid any royalties, thereby missing the bulk of the big SDRAM production years, failing to take advantage of their intellectual property, and blowing their fiduciary duties to their shareholders. |
