I have no defense for Clinton's sexual escapades and subsequent embarrassment to the office of the presidency. All I'm looking for is similar condemnation by Republicans of Republicans, most still in Congress, who let their John Henrys do their thinking for them, fathered children, and then took no responsibility in the raising of the children. The Republican argument, quoted more than once on this board, that "This isn't about sex; it's about obstruction of justice bla bla bla" is a cop-out. It's a convenient way to skirt the issue (no pun intended) of rampant immoral behavior by members of the GOP. Latest example occurred yesterday when the GOP senator from Arkansas, Hutchinson, married his old Girl Friday. The Baptist preacher/legislator divorced his wife of 29 years shortly after receiving some national award for his work promoting family values, which was a key element in his campaign for the Senate a few years ago. While this conduct does not qualify for inclusion in the "Hall of Shame," it does reveal his hypocrisy. Shameless conduct and hypocrisy extends to both sides of the aisle. It's time for all voters to attack this form of behavior wherever it exists. It's especially time for Republicans to speak out against improper behavior by other Republicans instead of applauding their exit speeches.
