WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--FMR Corp. lowered its stake in Ames Department Stores Inc. (AMES) to 6.2%, or 1,823,700 shares, according to an amended Schedule 13G filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In early May, FMR reported a 11.356% stake in Ames.

FMR also reduced its stake in Ogden Corp. (OG) to 7.99%, or 3,964,050 shares, according to another amended Schedule 13G filed Thursday with the SEC.

In February, FMR reported a 13% stake in Ogden.

A Schedule 13G denotes passive investment in a company.

Ames Department Stores is a discount retail chain based in Rocky Hill, Conn., that operates 455 stores in 19 states and the District of Columbia.

New York-based Ogden is a holding company that owns and operates independent power projects and provides related infrastructure services worldwide.
