I don't care what anybody says.
I think the geniuses figured it out in AOL many years ago.
they were only about 10 years before their time....
The internet is ubiquitous.
AOL can't own the party.
Microsoft can't own the party.
things are getting too smart.
tehcnologies are getting too sophisticated.
the kewl developers have been hammered for too long.
they don't care about wall street.
they don't care what wall street has to tell them.
they don't really care about money.
they don't really care about stock price.
they don't really care.
the barriers to entry are not the same.
the empowerment issues and flow of information are not the same.
it's not the same.
3 years ago nobody though AOL would make it.
3 years ago few people had heard of AMazon or visited ebay.
3 years from now things are going to be drastically different.
the world is changing.
the little guy is becoming empowered by the flow of information and the rapid shifts in financial backing.
it's not the same world.
there is too much strong hot money out there that has survived the ups and downs and it's not easily going away. it will chase hot new ideas and hot new concepts and some of them will pay off. geeze. several years ago when AOL had its' 800 million market cap ,,,,people thought that was outrageous. Now there are hundreds?? of individuals with a higher net worth than that.
Blows me away...
