Joan, I hope you feel better really, really soon. It has been a great treat to read you these last couple of days.

Drooling is bad. Just no way to cover when that starts.

I've been trying to come up with some specific examples in modern music that are good poetry, and also harken back to the past and history of poetry. They are there, as you noticed in the Dummies song. If you only listen to the radio, they can be hard to find, but there are some writer's who are very well versed in poetry from classical through to today, and keep the thread going. That is one of the most exciting things to me. Some people talk of worn themes and this and that, but part of poetry is alluding back to others, and keeping the story going. That I find very exciting. Poets keep the story of our world, beings, and hearts going, renewing it over and over. And there are those poets out there, and some are in rock bands.

I love it when I hear a song and I know that the writer has gone back to an earlier song, or even further back in time to an historical poet and drawn out the line.
