Robert, I don't know if their is any easy answer to why Excel pulled out. However, based on past attempts to close the China project by Diamondworks DMW and Olds industries, there seems to be similar trends that have developed in the present attempts by KRT. It would appear that Excel's influence was developing most of the agenda upto the time of the shareholder's meeting. IE. nine member board, JV with Global. My view is that a major new shareholder did not see eye to eye with what Excel was trying to develop. The complete unbundling of the JV and Excels withdrawal from the financing appeared to crest at the World Mining Expo in Shenzhan China. Approx.date of expo April 21-24/96. My notes based on news releases and SI responses by those "in the Know" leads me to the conclusion, that full commitment to the China lands is what these Hong Kong shareholders want period. Unfortunatly, these new shareholders have no commitment to the rest of the KRT shareholders. I just can't imagine how a major shareholder can have so much influence over a deal, yet cannot deliver on a miniscule financing package at an appropriate price level. Based on what I'm seeing now, I want no part of it. I do not see how they"ll be able to finance this project over the long term. Dave P.S. Krt's management is weak in their present position over these titans in influencing direction and visions. They do have one very powerful leverage to this deal. Don, Would you please pull the pin and blow this deal!!!
