It's a wonderful idea. And NO burning live things with you, be they human and animal. Your dead body can burn up with inanimate objects, thank you very much.
Do you think now that we are less able, or willing, to deal with the passage of loved ones? I watched a friend's cremation, and noted not so much that other's couldn't, or wouldn't watch, but their reaction to me afterwards. It was almost like they were scared of me, for having witnessed the event. But I couldn't see it happening without a witness. How rude. It was the same at my grandmother's funeral. Everyone left when they tossed on the first shovel full of dirt, except for me and a cousin who stayed for me, not her. He kept looking at me like I was nuts. But there is something importment, to me, about seeing these things through, watching the full walk to the other side that someone takes. It's sacred. |
