I waited until the turkey had settled nicely into position and sat down and figured my Schedule D for 1996. The profit I took (too early as it turns out) in MSFT last March looked like a LARGE gain, so I figured a compensating, but not nearly so large loss was the right thing to have.

Simple really. No emotion involved. This is investing and not cheerleading after all.

Made 5 figure gain numbers for the fourth year in a row. How are you doing?
