Had the news services intentionally passed on information they knew was false, it would be a different story. But, merely because they should have known or perhaps, could have known if they had checked it out, does not create liability, IMO. Even though it is good (and better) business practice to check it out, I don't think that they have a legal duty to do so. Troy
